The Annunciation with Holy Napkin: A composite scene uniting two pivotal moments in Orthodox theology. Gabriel announces to the Theotokos that she shall bear the Savior—the event of Christ's conception on March 25. The Mandylion (Image Not Made by Hands), honored August 16, represents the miraculous imprint of Christ's face, affirming the power of sacred imagery. Together, these holy images above the altar proclaim the mystery of the Incarnation and redemption.
