Righteous Ruth, Proselyte and Ancestress of David. A Moabite widow whose faithful conversion to the God of Israel and steadfast love for her mother-in-law Naomi exemplify virtue and devotion. Through her marriage to Boaz, she became great-grandmother of King David and an ancestor of Christ. Her willingness to leave her people for the truth of God inspires believers to embrace faith with courage and humility. Feast: celebrated among the Forefathers.
