The Pentecost, depicting the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles. This Great Feast commemorates the fulfillment of Christ's mission and the birth of the Church, when the disciples received the Holy Spirit in cloven tongues of fire (Acts 2). Celebrated fifty days after Pascha, Pentecost reveals the fullness of the Holy Trinity.
