The Ascension of Christ. One of the Great Feasts of the Orthodox Church, celebrated forty days after Pascha (Easter), always falling on Thursday. Christ ascends to heaven, granting His disciples the promise of the Holy Spirit and demonstrating humanity's ultimate union with the Divine. In the Ascension resides the fullness of Christ's Resurrection, showing that through Him, human nature ascends to glory.
